When magazines write about me they usually call me 'celebrity' manicurist, but I consider myself a fashion manicurist as most of my days are spent on the set of fashion magazine shoots. I had the great honor of working on the current issue of French Vogue and we worked for one week (or was it two full weeks) shooting different models each wearing the 'quintessential' look of every important designer in the industry today.

mariahs new video OBSESSED

I am sitting at home anxiously awaiting the premier of Mariah Carey's new video OBSESSED. You might remember I worked on this video with her a few weeks ago. It is always amazing to see the finished product after 30 some hours of shooting scenes. Here are some backstage photos. She is wearing Superstar , Before He Cheats and a clean buff on her nails. And NO, she isnt playing anyone in particular as the boy character!

Hope you are all having a great summer. I am happy to be at home in NYC this weekend. Enjoying beautiful weather and thinking and looking for inspiration for next years spring/summer collection in my mind.

it has been Mariah Carey mania in my life this week... in a good way. I spent 2 days with her shooting a Macy's commercial for her fragrances. The commercial is starring MC, Martha Stewart ( also a FAVORITE client of mine) Donald Trump, Jessica Simpson, Queen Latifah and Usher. Star studded. I was with MC when we got the news about the death of Michael Jackson. I will never forget that sad sad moment...I think we will all remember where we were when we heard that news.
The next couple days we spent at the Plaza Hotel in NYC city shooting her new video OBSEESED. The single will be available to download soon and I will be getting it as soon as its available. Its an addictive tune! You may have heard by now that MC portrays both herself and her OBSESSED fan in the video. She is the girliest girl I have ever known so it was quite a feat to turn her into the boy character. Lots of fun. And really fun to turn her back into the beauty she is. She wore Superstar and Before He Cheats on her nails. We totally took her length down for the male character. Kristofer Buckle created the amazing make-up (and achieved it in no time at all!) and Roque did the hair looks. We have worked as a team with Mariah for many years off and on. It was great to be back together again!

my heart is breaking today with the loss of one of the greatest talents we have ever experienced. Lets all remember how much joy Michael Jackson brought us. Rest In Peace.

I spent the weekend in Southern California doing my final west coast personal appearance for the season. I was able to bring my neice on stage to strut her stuff demonstrating my favorite exfoliating slipper- footloose and her toes painted in Dark Side of the Moon. Helen, Linda and Linda handled the customer requests while Jude and I met one on one with customer after customer answering the most pressing nail questions. hope do I file my nails properly? Can I use all four fabrics on the Smooth Operator to smooth and shine my nails? show me how to use the cuticle remover to push back my cuticle and remove the dead skin on the nail plate. what is the best way to really hydrate my nails? *cutucle oil and rich girl hand and cuticle cream. we talked about using hydrating base coat with aloe to get moisture into these dry peeling nails. We also discussed getting your nails back to beautiful after wearing acrylics or nail wraps of gels. You must use one coat of my hard rock hydrating nail hardener and your nails will bounce back beautifully.
